Hey, all! Let's start today's post by simply stating...this blog may not be overwhelmingly consistent with posts due to real life- it happens! The story of the one-armed paper hanger comes to mind here, but the level of busy that happens around here borders on insanity. The story of Libre Winds is definitely a wild one!!! Our little mountain homestead is a new undertaking and not an undertaking that was thoughtfully planned out with a specific purpose or goal in mind. Our little operation just sort of happened one day...and here we are! Our story begins with a couple of crazy country kids who grew up on their grandparents' farms and ranches, went on to live their lives, raise families, etc, and then, when they finally reached the age of bran flakes and the AARP, they decided to indulge in a totally new venture better suited to 20-year olds! That sums up the beginnings of Libre Winds! On our little homestead, we have the "Ranch Foreman" and then myself, the "Hired Hand" and a bunch of animals. We should note that the Ranch Foreman is rarely EVER on the premises, so it's basically a one-person operation much of the time. Imagine being of retirement age and starting a small farm operation single-handedly from scratch... again, the word "crazy" is an appropriate moniker, but when you have a passion and have lived your life aiming to get back to the farm, you embrace the crazy!!! We love ALL things country here!!! We love the lifestyle our grandparents lived, and it's their lifestyle that inspires us every day. Our little operation is just getting started and putting down it's roots, but getting back to our roots is the entire point!
